The ISEKI-Food Association, the ISEKI_FOOD 4 project and the National Technical University of Athens are pleased to announce the 3rd International ISEKI_Food Conference (ISEKI_Food 2014) to be held May 21 – 23, 2014 in Athens, Greece.
The ISEKI_Food Conference series aims to contribute to the creation of an open international forum for researchers, education scientists, technologists, industry representatives and food consumers, to promote constructive dialogue and collaboration on topics relevant to Food Science and Technology, Industry and Education and to present and disseminate the results of the ISEKI_Food network project activities.
The ISEKI_Food 2014 conference theme is “Food Science and Technology for a Bioeconomy 2020”. The main topics are:
Re-thinking education: enhancing Food Science & Technology competences for Bioeconomy 2020
Knowledge and Innovation in research towards a bioeconomy perspective
Food Industry for a sustainable planet food supply
Several pre-conference events will be organised including:
- “State of Research in Europe in the Field of Food Science and Technology” workshop
- “Industry meets Academia and PhD programmes” workshop
Both workshops will include the presentation of PhD research activities complemented by presentations given by scientists and industry representatives.
- Final assessment session of the Pilot Training School for teachers in Food Science & Technology organised by the ISEKI_Food 4 project
Several awards including a young scientist PURATOS award will be made to young researchers, teachers, PhD students and Post-docs judged to have made a positive contribution to the progress and quality of research, and to the development of new concepts or techniques, aimed at improving the Food sector (education, research, industry).
The conference and pre-conference events will be held at the President Hotel, located in a vibrant and convenient district close to the historic, cultural and commercial centre of Athens. The hotel offers superb transportation links for all the city’s main attractions, shopping and business areas.
We look forward to continuing our successful conference series by welcoming oral presentation and poster contributions on research, industry and teaching experiences on the specific topics of the conference. Special attention will be given to contributions from industry and young researchers and to developments featuring collaboration between industrial and academic teams.
