Capgemini Wins $88 Million U.S. Army Information Systems Contract

A member of the Capgemini Group, Capgemini Government Solutions LLC, announced that it has won a five-year, $88 million contract by the U.S. Army to provide Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) support services for the Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS). The PEO EIS is an organization which is responsible for providing infrastructure and information management systems to the Army. Capgemini, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services was happy to win this contract.

The PEO EIS is establishing an IV&V function at the Army Enterprise level in order to improve enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations. This will also help to reduce the total costs associated with the Army’s ERP programs and to provide an enterprise view across the entire Army. This addresses the Army’s goal of Total Asset Visibility (TAV).

The five ERP programs of the Army that Capgemini will support, includes the following:
• Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A)
• Logistics Modernization Program (LMP)
• General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS)
• Army-Defense Integrated Manpower
• Human Resources System (DIMHRS-A)
• Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (AESIP, formerly PLM+)

Capgemini’s scope of work will include providing broad-based IV&V services encompassing Army ERPs within the purview of PEO EIS both collectively at the enterprise level and individually at the project level.

Joe Moye, head of Capgemini Public Sector in North America, said, "Capgemini’s past experience working with the U.S. Army and the Department of Defense, coupled with our strong knowledge of the Army’s requirements and challenges, provides the necessary insight to develop a collaborative partnership with PEO EIS and to meet and ultimately exceed their needs. Capgemini’s strategic approach to enterprise resource planning will allow the Army to rapidly deliver on its mission of ERP implementations improvement at a reduced cost."

Capgemini team will also develop, operate and maintain an automated Central Risk Repository for the PEO EIS that will be designed to track and monitor information related to the validation services. Capgemini will join forces with a number of subcontractors; including American Systems, Business Management International Inc., CSCL, Exalt, Hampton University, Lighthouse Technologies Inc., New Vectors, PRTM and Pragmatics to complete the project.
