The nomination period for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year 2010 Awards has been announced in Florida recently. The deadline for the applications is March 19, 2010, while the awards ceremony is scheduled for June 10, 2010 at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate.

The award has reached its 24th year and is recognized as one of the most prestigious business award functions in the country. The award winners of the ‘Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards’ are selected by a panel of neutral judges and includes leaders from civic institutions and academic institutions along with local business owners , and previous award winners as well.

Mike Brennan, partner and host of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Florida program, said “Ernst & Young has recognized leading entrepreneurs for their contributions to society for nearly a quarter of a century. These entrepreneurs create jobs, bolster the economy, drive innovation and revitalize their communities. We are proud to support them. This program honors the outstanding entrepreneurial minds in our local area. Entrepreneurs are nominated and evaluated by individuals in the region, bringing together business, and academic and community leaders to celebrate achievements that make a real difference.”

Once the regional winners have been selected, they are automatically nominated for the national Entrepreneur of The Year Awards. Along with this the venture-backed companies which have won a regional Entrepreneur of the Year award are also eligible for the Entrepreneur of the Year function on November 13, 2010, in Palm Springs, California.
