The barbecue fires up at the Boat Party this Wednesday, May 9th, on the ship Eastern Comfort with mixing cultures and languages and live music on the Spree. The weekly language/international party brings together people of all ages from everywhere and is known for its friendly ambience where it's easy to meet and talk with people in a variety of languages--I help with arranging language partners. Come early for that. The party starts at 7pm around my 5-star hummus. The Entry is one euro until 8:30pm, after that two euros (the extra euro to pay the band). ERASMUS students (with valid ID) get in free.
The BBQ (weather allowing) is from 8 to 10pm and includes steaks, sausages and vegetarian sausages with buns and salad.
This week a favorite on the boat, Xavi Gomez & friends, will be performing Bossa-Nova-Pop in the heartfelt Andalusian style. Their concert will begin around 10pm.
Last week was warm with a summer feeling on the boat and people out by the water late into the night. 90+ people at the party. The barbecue was a big hit, too. It was a good night to speak English, German, Arabic, Russian, Spanish, French, Italian, Catalan, Turkish, Chinese, Polish, Hindi and Hebrew out on the water,

The ship is a 5-10 minute walk from Warschauerstr. U-Bahn/S-Bahn/Tram down Warschauerstr. toward the Oberbaumbrücke. Just before the bridge turn right onto Mühlenstr., and the Eastern Comfort entrance is about 100 meters down the street (Mühlenstr. 73, Berlin, 10243) near the beginning of the Eastside Gallery. On the ship, the lounge is on the 2nd floor. See you there.
