Research management support has become an important
function in its own right, but there is little formal training that can prepare
people for this important service function. The
purpose of this workshop is to share experience between those whose job it is
to advise researchers on how to get grants.
It will examine the role of the research support manager, how to perform
this role effectively, juggle the many demands and look at the possibilities
for personal development and advancement.
The workshop is designed for those whose job it is to advise researchers on how to get grants. The workshop will cover e.g. reflections on the essence of the job, why research management support is needed; how to coach researchers; how to act as an intermediary and how to build relationships.
