Here you’ll find answers to your questions, and information about XING features. You can also contact the XING Support team if you need any other assistance.
You can access your groups and/or events by launching "mobile.xing.com" and selecting "Switch to web view" at the bottom of the page, which will take you to the web-based version of XING so you can access your groups.
Unfortunately your event and group notifications will not appear on a mobile device for technical reasons. Please log in on a computer to receive these notifications.
If you go to your contact list and then enter the menu (by pressing the BlackBerry key) you can link a XING contact to a contact in your BlackBerry address book or simply create a new address book contact. Once you have done this, you can use the menu to add your contact's XING details to your BlackBerry address book.
To access the app without any problems, please make sure that you grant the app access to your data. When you launch the app, you need to check the box next to the "Allow the application to access my XING data" option. Then you need to enter your login details and click on "Allow". You can check whether authentication is still in place at any time by going to your privacy settings on the XING platform: "Settings (cog symbol in the left sidebar) > Privacy" followed by "XING BlackBerry application" under the "External applications" tab.
You can search for and download the XING BlackBerry app from the App World. You will also be prompted to download the app when you access the mobile website (mobile.xing.com) from your BlackBerry.
Messages that XING generates, such as the welcome message when you sign up to the platform, do not contain the sender's ID, which in turn can lead to a problem when analyzing messages. From version 1.5.0.22 on these messages will be ignored, meaning that the problem no longer exists.
This problem can be solved by updating the BlackBerry Enterprise Server or by switching the browser to "Internet Browser" or "Hotspot Browser" on your BlackBerry.
As authentication takes place in the browser, only the BlackBerry browser is able to authenticate the app. Other browsers such as Opera are optional and cannot be used to launch a different app from a link.
If you don't like using the integrated browser you can use e.g. Opera Mini or BOLT.
The Mobile Handshake is based on the standardized Geolocation API created by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Depending on your device, GPS, IP addresses, or WiFi positions may be used to determine your location. When you launch the Mobile Handshake, your phone will send information letting our servers know where you are to make it easier for you to expand your network. Your personal data is protected at all times.
Please delete the app, and then download and install it again from the BlackBerry App World. If this doesn't help, please let us know which BlackBerry device you're using as well as your operating system version and app version and whether or not your device has been jailbroken (if you don't know what the latter means, then your device will most probably not have been jailbroken ;-))
