You can change your email address under "Home → Edit Profile → Contact details → Email addresses". Please be aware that you must re-confirm the contents of your profile once you have made your changes for security reasons. You will then receive an email sent to your new email address. Please click on the link in the email to confirm the changes.
If you forget your login data, simply click on "Forgot your login data?" under the login area on the start page. After you enter your email address (or your username), we'll send you a link to a password reset page, which you can use to create a new password. After that, you can immediately log in to the site.
Contacts on XING can have different types of status. A contact only becomes active once the person you have added as a contact confirms this contact. In the same way, somebody may add you as a contact, which you then have to confirm in order to create this contact. These people who are waiting for you to confirm them as a contact appear in the "Received requests" folder. Contacts can either be confirmed or denied. Until a contact request is confirmed, it will remain in "Sent requests".
There are two reasons why your contacts might disappear from your profile:
1. This person has deleted your contact and was thus also deleted from your list of contacts.
2. This person is no longer a member of XING.
Your username (or your email address) serves along with your password for your personal login onto the site. This username cannot be seen by other members and must not be passed on to any third parties.
You will find all information about your current membership status by clicking on the "Invoices & Accounts" icon (the € symbol on the left-hand side of the page).
If you have Premium Membership, you can see when the current term will expire. You can also make changes to your bank details and your invoice address, or view your previous invoices. Please note that changes cannot be made retrospectively to invoices which have already been issued! If you are not yet a Premium Member you can upgrade your membership on this page.

Nobody besides you can view your personal information. All data denoted by a lock symbol can only be viewed if you have individually released this information to others. Otherwise, this information is not visible to any third parties. If you set your profile to be visible to non-members, you can deactivate this setting at any time by going to "My privacy settings → Make my profile page visible to non-members". If you log out of XING and then visit your own profile, you will notice that it contains no personal information like your contact details at all. Many of the other fields are also deactivated or only contain a brief summary.
If you receive an error message during the registration process, please refer to any fields highlighted in red. These hints help you locate problems with your registration, and possible solutions. Frequent reasons for an error message:
-You have not filled in mandatory fields
-You have entered incorrect information (such as an email address without an @ symbol)
-The passwords you entered do not match each other
Your basic personal info includes your first name, last name, gender and academic degree and title if applicable. You can edit this data at "Home → Settings →
My personal data“. Please keep in mind that most changes have to be approved: only your academic degree and title can be changed by pressing the save button.
Changes to names and genders have to be manually approved by the XING support team. Click on the "Save" button once you have made your changes. You will be notified by email as soon as your request has been approved.
