Job ad search

  • How does the Jobs section on XING work?
The Jobs and Careers section on XING is a portal for job vacancies. Members can post and find listings here. These can also be found by non-members via search engines, if so desired. What makes our Jobs section different from other job sites? Connection paths mean that members are able to see, when viewing listings, how they are personally connected via their personal network to the person posting the job opening.
  • What advantages does our Jobs section have over traditional job websites?
The fact that the offers are combined with links to posters’ contact network and profile information means that the Jobs section on XING provides you with a number of advantages:

    • When responding to the employer or recruiter you can refer to your connection path, revealing which contacts you might both be connected with.
    • You can make contact with the poster more easily and on a more personal note due to the fact that you can view their profile information.
    • You can view other connections to the company that is advertising the vacant position.
    • You receive job offers that may interest you, based on the information you have entered in your profile.
  • How do the job alerts on XING Jobs work?
You can create job alerts which will automatically email you new search results for your saved job searches.

To do this, first run a search. The "Create job alert" button will appear above the search results which you can click on to automatically receive new job postings at the email address you entered in your XING profile. If you have saved several job alerts (you can save up to 5), all of the results will be sent to you in one email.

Active job alerts can be deleted at any time by clicking on the "x" next to the job alert you want to cancel.
  • How do I apply for a job posted on XING?
An employer or recruiter decides when posting a job offer how they would like to receive applications. Click on the "Apply now" button in the offer and you will be forwarded accordingly:

    • Either to a website where you can then apply online, or
    • to an email program where you can compose a message and attach documents, or
    • to a page directly on XING where you can compose a message.
  • What is the difference between the Keyword Search and the Advanced Search?
The Keyword Search on the Jobs start page allows you to search quickly and simply for terms in any of the fields in the job offers. This enables you to locate offers that contain your search term.

The Advanced Search on the other hand lets you search for specific and targeted terms in specific fields, e.g. if you are only looking for offers in a particular industry or at a certain career level.
  • How can I hide jobs ads on the homepage?
If you don't want to receive any job ads on your homepage, just click on the "x" that appears in the top right-hand corner of the job ad section when you hover over it with your mouse.

Alternatively you can hide single job ads by clicking on the "x" that appears next to the ad in question when you hover over it with your mouse. A new job ad will then appear to replace the one you just dismissed.
  • How can I hide job recommendations from my XING homepage?
If you move your mouse over a job recommendation, you'll notice a small cross (x) appear in the top right-hand corner of the box. If you click on the cross, the box will then disappear. Please note that you can't undo this change.
