    香港法律和司法制度源于英国，和英国的法律极为相似，因此对外商而言，香港法律和司法制度比中国内地法律和司法制度较为容易被认同和接受。香港法律对于参与仲裁的双方当事人代表的身份也不设任何限制，也就是说，双方当事人可以指定自己本国或者其他国家的法律代表出席仲裁，而无需指定香港律师为其代理人。

    仲裁可以分为随意仲裁和机构仲裁。随意仲裁的随意性比较大，在香港的使用范围也是最广的，可以随意地选择仲裁员和法官。譬如甲和乙有商务纠纷，通过仲裁中心的丙来调解，那这件事情就只有这三个人知道，有较高保密性，而且费用也不会太高。而内地机构仲裁要求的手续比较复杂，费用方面相对也比较高。

    另外，与法院比起来，仲裁有它自己的优势。法院的判决只适用于本国，换句话说，企业在哪个地方打赢了官司，这个裁决就只能在那个地方适用，它的使用范围比较窄。而仲裁是全世界通用的，只要拿着仲裁判决，不管企业在中国，在英国，在美国，这个裁决都有效，不会再出现在中国打赢官司却在美国败诉的怪现象。

    Dear Prof, Thanks for your short, but illuminating piece. Indeed, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre seems the preferred venue for efficacious and cost efficient trade disputes arising ithat part of the world. Could you please give details of the centre? I mean the Address, Telephone , website and access to front office kind of information?
