  XING has informed all moderators on XING today with the following newsletter " The New XING" including all changes starting tomorrow: 10-09-16th.
  
  
  
  This is a copy of the XING newsletter:
  
  
  For seven years now, people have been coming together on XING to network and drive their business and career forward. Tomorrow, September 16, 2010, will herald a new chapter in the history of XING, with a host of new features and a revamped design. We would like to take this opportunity give you, as moderators, advanced notice about the main improvements, as well as provide you with some tips on making the most of the innovations when moderating your group.
  
  
  • Keep your eye on everything with Notifications
  From pending contact requests right through to event notifications: From tomorrow onwards, your Notifications will greet you on your start page with a clear summary of everything that needs to be responded to or taken care of. But as well as providing a useful overview, it also brings your inbox to your start page: Just one click lets you read any messages, process your contact requests, and accept or decline event invitations. This way you’ll be able to stay on top of what’s happening and use XING more efficiently than ever before!
  
  
  • Automatic inbox sorting
  Tomorrow we will also be launching an automatic inbox sorting functionality along with the Notifications feature, which divides your incoming messages up into personal messages, group newsletters and event notifications. This lets you keep track of everything and find messages or information again more easily.
  
  
  • New design and “My XING”
  XING’s new design has been conceived to create a more clearly structured platform for users and enable them to access the important parts of XING with greater ease. We have therefore given more space to key features in the new design and made sure that different features and sections are more clearly defined from one another. Besides the Notifications on the start page, we’re also introducing “My XING”, which you will find in the top right-hand corner of every page from tomorrow onwards. You can also see here if you have unread messages or pending contact requests, and with just one click you can go to your profile or all your other personal content such as events, recommended jobs, your privacy settings or your Invoices & Accounts – from wherever you are on the platform.
  
  
  • Find everything with one single search
  From tomorrow, we will be clustering different searches for members, groups, jobs, events and companies into one universal search. This means that you’ll be able to find all the relevant results across the platform from one single search. The hits are clearly categorized into tabs according to the different sections, and each tab has its own filters. You can also see how many search results were generated in each particular area of the platform and see where exactly it’s most worth looking for relevant hits.
  
  
  • Network wherever you are: The Outlook Social Connector
  The new Outlook Social Connector will connect your XING network with your Outlook from tomorrow onwards! Whenever you receive an email from one of your contacts, XING will provide you with their contact details, and network and status updates right alongside their email – like in “What’s new in my network”, only specially filtered for the respective contact.
  
  
  • Innovations for Basis Members
  From tomorrow, Basis Members will have the possibility for the very first time, to write direct messages to their contacts. Furthermore, they also can make use of the new, comfortable search in its entirety, which therefore have only access to the first 15 search results. These innovations support the cultivation of contacts and interaction in your network and play a part in contributing to more activity, from which all members benefit.
