Empowering Women in War Zones
If you want to harm your enemy, armies with guns and tanks and bombs will do a good job, and genocide really gets the worlds attention ...but it is only when you divide a nation that you can truly conquer it. The easiest way to divide a nation is to rape and maim its female population. From the youngest girls, to the oldest women ...when you do that you are guaranteed to demoralise your enemy.

In countries like Afghanistan, the Congo, Iraq, Nigeria and Rwanda when a woman is raped her husband will leave her, she is shunned by her village and even her children will have nothing to do with her.

And when a nation has abandoned its women you have not only its present, but also its future in your hands.
Yes - the real way to devastate a nation is to attack its women!

They say in these places that physical death is only one kind of death. There is another, this is the one when you have seen and experienced so much that you can no longer feel.

These war zones are littered with the corpses of women, of both kinds of dead and it is hard to believe that there could be any kind of hope.

How could these women who have lived through the worst kinds of atrocities rebuild their lives, gain back their self esteem, get access to capital in order to start their own small businesses so that they may survive. Is it possible that these same women could transform from victims to active, respected community members?

The answer is YES! In fact with a little assistance what these women can achieve is nothing short of miraculous!
