Re^7: Is certification worth the trouble?
The world is changing fast. In the old days you would work as an apprentice under someone who had years of experience as you developed your knowledge. At the same time the customer or client was protected as there would always be someone overseeing your work to see that too many things did not go wrong.

What worries me today, is that many people are just starting up businesses and learning on the job. Often the customer or client is not aware of this as the new shop front - the website - can be just as good for a novice as for a professional. Initially it is the customer who suffers, but in time it is also the whole profession.

If people are properly credentialed, the ground knowledge is assured. And, at least in the case of the ICF and the IVAA, the customer has a place to complain if any problems arise.

Oops Deanna, seems I have added another level to your education.
Krissy, I've resigned myself to the fact that I will always be studying something. I believe that if you're not learning, you're not growing and if you're not growing, you're dying.

    Dear DeAnna,

Every day is a lesson where we learn. Otherwise it is not worth getting out of bed.

    It keeps us alive.

    Thank you and I agree.

    Kind regards,
    Fazila
