"There are 10 kinds of people. Those who understand binary notation, and those who do not."
Those who do, know why 256 ACM group members make for a good cause to write this newsletter. Half of you have received my recent mailing when we had 128 members in the group. Welcome to the other half, who have joined since then!
We have a very simple forum structure: Basically Discussions | People and Projects | Events | Feedback. In addition, the Germans and German-speaking folks can use the [DE] forum.
Please let us know what you expect from the group, and please help us to make it happen. It is key that we get even more members (I do not want to wait yet another 2 years until we double again), and that we have more discussions, content, traffic. All factors influencing each other. So spread the word. Invite your colleagues. Share your thoughts and links to your projects. Participate in the discussions.
For example I was curious about the distribution of the ACM in Europe:

My map might be a little biased towards Germany -- but you can help me. I am happy to add more local groups to the map.
