    Introducing Rolf Dieter Zschau
    Hi, acm colleagues,

like Jan de Meer I am proud to be a member of acm - but a shorter period than him: just over 15 years. I joined acm after my studies at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nueremberg - and some years after joining IEEE Computer Society which I left thereafter.

I have a broad knowledge of practical computing using PCs, midrange systems and mainframes (yeah - I used Cobol under BS2000 and Fortran at PDP-11 - long ago). Starting as a programmer before my time at university I gained much experience in different areas: trials to write my own operating system for a Commodore cbm 8296, an administration system for retirement homes, data base design and implementation for several administrative systems and custom ERP systems, requirements analysis and management for several systems, project management, quality management, systems in the retail sector, systems in public sector, systems in telecommunications etc.

During the last few years, business process analysis and requirements analysis and management are my main duties - with some projects off the track. So I define myself now as a Process, Analysis and Requirements Specialist - but also as a generalist in topics. Since I have seen (and used) so many different projects, methods and engineering models during my career, I am also a specialist in software engineering (CMMI, RUP, V-Model 97/XT, ...).

I hope to find a lively community here at acm group - and to participate in interesting discussions.

    Kind regards
    Rolf Dieter Zschau
