    The Background of the AIAI
All India Association of Industries (AIAI) is an apex industry association established in the year 1956 by a team of dedicated businesspersons with the primary task of fostering sustained industrial development in the country.

Since its inception, AIAI's primary goal has been to serve the many needs of India's industrial and business communities. It provides an effective platform to address the issues relating to trade and industry to the Government both at Central and State levels. It also helps the Indian industries in meeting the challenge of liberalisation and globalisation by providing a vital link to explore the world of new opportunities. The opening up of the economy has resulted in the entry of a large number of foreign competitors and an increased global focus of domestic industry resulting into dynamic growth and greater competitiveness of corporate India. Thus, AIAI's chief mission is to foster a free, healthy and competitive business environment in India.

AIAI actively promotes and fosters interests of industrial and business houses through seminars, workshops and exhibitions at the state and national levels. These events are aimed at promoting trade, investment, technological advancement, manpower development and other business related issues in India.

It represents & constantly endeavours to promote large, medium and small-scale industries involved in almost all major manufacturing fields including engineering, cotton, textiles, rayon, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, metals, rubber, sugar, plastics, paper and many other sectors.

AIAI acts as a bridge between its members and overseas business communities. The Association endeavours to promote bilateral trade and regularly organizes exchange of trade delegations and one to one business meetings with various foreign dignitaries and delegations from all parts of the world.. It has till date signed about 65 Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with various International Chambers of Commerce. Some of the recent delegations have been from USA, UK, Slovak Republic, Iran, Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, Mauritius, Madagascar, Bahrain & others.
