My all-time favourite is the Candadian IDRC web-site, trilingual English- French- Spanish and full of state-of-the art research and applications around development and especially rich on the topic of evaluations: http://www.idrc.ca/en/ev-1-201-1-DO_TOPIC.html

And since the IDRC is good at qualitative approaches, I shall mention, in the same breadth, the International Journal of Qualitative Methodology, freely accessible on the web: http://ejournals.library.ualberta.ca/index.php/IJQM/index

My award for easy applicability goes to the BRIDGE Cutting Edge Packs on Gender and Development, also available in several languages: http://www.bridge.ids.ac.uk/reports_gend_cep.html

Also good on gender and development: http://www.siyanda.org - an on-line database full of helpful articles.

More links at the bottom of my blog http://michaela-raab.blogspot.com - always keen to hear about yours!

    Re: Treasure Troves
    thanks,
there are some interesting things there..

and just as a side note and to add to resource pool:
A site I like is the publications page from Russel Bernard, from where you can directly access a lot of his stuff. For those who don't know him, he is an anthropologists with a huge knowledge in research methods. I really like the way he makes his papers accessible.

Thanks for sharing this delightful site! Since we're into academics sharing their knowlege, I also recommend a low-threshold collection of psychology basics - http://arbeitsblaetter.stangl-taller.at/ - in German, though, which may disappoint some members of this forum.

This site is not so much about the thematic issues in development, but instead if focus on giving practical support to staff working within the international development sector, and especially to those who are posted in hardship duty stations. The whole site is based on service around your duty station, but there's also a great job search for vacancies within UN-organizations and major international NGO's.
