The Fundació Digital of Barcelona announces the fourth edition of the Digital Innovation IGC Awards

The deadline for the presentation of candidacies is the 17th of March 2006

The Fundació Barcelona Digital, organiser of the IGC, the key working congress on Innovation and Knowledge in the Digital Society that is celebrated annually in Barcelona, announces within the framework of the congress the fourth edition of the IGC Prizes on Digital innovation.

These awards aim to support ideas and innovative projects of a technological nature that are based on the results of companies, technological centres and universities. And also products and innovative services that exploit business opportunities that arise from these results. They also support technology focused on the Information Society and Digital World.

The prizes are organised into three categories: Large business R & D projects, Small enterprise projects, and projects from universities and institutions.

The call will remain open until the 17th of March 2006. To present a candidacy, fill in the form that can be found in the “Awards” section on http://www.igcweb.net

The jury will consider the technological and innovative character, the degree of definition, maturity or feasibility of the project, its originality and applicability, the problem that it solves or need that it covers, the social benefit and it’s contribution to the support of the business world.

The results of the IV edition of the Digital Innovation IGC Awards will be presented at the closing ceremony of the congress, which will take place on the 1st of June in the Hotel Princess Sofia, Barcelona, and to which all finalists are invited. The winners will receive, besides an acknowledgement diploma, a gift from Fujitsu, sponsors of the Awards.
