in an unusual move, Mödling now has a new energy source and a new focus. a focus on becoming the happiest city in the world.
the move is initiated from the heart of the 1100 year old city, which has for a while been competing with eSchwechat's technology initiative. there was a focus on being "the best city in the world", and in light of recent knowledge, this has been refined to hMödling, immeadiately leaping 3 letters ahead of Schwechat. "Happy Mödling!"
a chief happiness officer has appeared, as if by magic, and is assembling a world class team of happy people intent on using their talents and energies to increase happiness in the wonderful city of some 21,600 residents, and then naturally extend to bezirk hMödling as well, reaching some 100,000 inhabitants. one small step for happiness, one great change in the world. the goal, that 80% of the inhabitants truly belive that hMödling is the best place in the world for them, their children, their families and friends, from the aspects of living, working, culture, sport, shopping, education etc. It is planned to hold the city up as an example of a sustainable model city for the future. a future proofed city, full of future proofed individuals!
an immediate step will be to take a poll of happiness ( internet and post etc ) in order to measure the situation now. workshops on happiness will be offered, and people engaged to understand what they need to become happier here. the team will offer caberet shows on a regular basis to enthuse people with happy energy.
new local TV will focus on bringing good news, alongside happy newspapers. an affinity card will offer multiple benefits that make you smile each time you look at it. personal visitng cards will be on offer to tell your friends about the city.
unemployment will cease, as people will be re-deployed during their working week to focus on their own talents and their abilitie o bring about small local changes to increase community happiness. rather than be paid to find work, they will be paid to bring happiness, and can find a new job in their own time, like those residents contributing to their benefit payments. under the affinity card program they will also get additional educational, health and financial rewards above their current AMS payments. ( they will report workwise to the happiness team ). teachers will receive new focus and energies, and will be enabled to balance their time in the classroom ( 50/50) with periods of sabbatical and work engagements that improve their experience of and connections to the working world they are educating the children and adults for. teachers will also have dotted line report to the happiness team who will act as "teacher motivation" as well. new technology will be used to enhance the learning experience for all, enabling true 7x24 learning as required, just in time education, and learning from others most suitable, for example kids learning from kids a couple of years older, facilitated by older kids and adults. all students and residents will be allocated a personal mentor from the community, and neighbourlyness ( neighbour "adoption" ) will also be encouraged , so that everyone has a person dedicate to understand their goals, and help them take one step each day towards those goals using the full strength of the community and society behind them. lifelong learning will be encouraged, those that were unable or chose not to be educated earlier will be supported later. all residents will be labelled "hoch begabt" their talents will be developed and used to help others develop theirs. the "auslanders" in the community will be brought closer, and can share their talents, cultures, knowledge with us - enablign our children to grow in global understanding without travelling miles from home. these visitors to austria will be fully supported in the community and encouraged to return to their prior homeland when appropriate in order to work on the challenges there, with fond memories of austria and stories that will bring their childrens children holidaying to hMödling in the future with all associated tourist income benefits. Local shopping will be encouraged to supot the green environment, and better local links. how nice to go shopping around the corner for a mobile phone or food, and have people on the checkout who know you well, rather than a nameless row of checkouts with sleepy 17 year olds....
education will be a huge focus. schooldays should be the happiest and most carefree of your life. this starts with a decent breakfast, a decent lunch a decent supper, and a full range of energetic sporting activities in between the knowledge activities. people with passion will be brought regularly into school life to show kids by example what can be acheived with focus and hard work, in order to bring about your own luck. we are what we eat, and decent meals will be available on special schemes through restaurants to enable people who are too busy being happy to eat properly to fuel their enthusiasm. in restaurant or at home - delivered or takeaway. similarly 24 hour childcare will be avavilable to those families who need it, 24 hour community kindergartens enable parents to take a break from the slog, and be happy alone or with friends for a while, and to make new friends, to return to the family refreshed and envigorated to share their happiness. an aupair pool will enable people to time share aupairs rather than employ them full time and live in. student exchange schemes will coordinate a flow of fresh blood and ideas into the city, many on homestays with families to extend knowledge of other cultures. homes with empty bedrooms will be encouraged to fill them on short term basis. they will work in cafes, schools, playcenters, shops to increse the level of customer and student happiness.
special links will be developed globally to new twin towns and partner towns, encouraging and fostering knowledge exchange , and the one step process to those in other lands. hMödling will also become the best connected and networked city in the world, able to call on a global knowledge pool for advice.
those that want can join up for the special happy program that helps them increase their income by 10% through networking with like minds and business coaches. more money will flow in the economy, helping local businesses to expand.
the many strengths of hMödling will be promoted more widely in Vienna, bringing tourist revenue from this local source.
community storytelling will be brought back, starting with book readings, local myths will be developed and passed down on a regular basis, the baobob tree.
of course, this is all an optional program in a free society. you can choose to participate or not. the choice is yours. do you choose increased happiness, or to stay the same?
corporate sponsors will be sought - for example PORR whose motto "designing hMödling ( the future ) today" and Orange " the future is bright, the future is hMödling (orange) " - resonate with this whole program
