    Lots of Fun In Fresh Air For A Good Cause

    Rotary Club Braşov Citadel is organizing with the help of the marketing agency RedCarpet its second annual and highly popular summer edition of Cursa Trasnitilor – a downhill race of vehicles without an engine on Saturday, June 06 on a street just below Tampa. (Tampa is a mountain, part of the Postăvaru Massif, located in the southern part of the Eastern Carpathians and almost entirely surrounded by the city of Braşov).

    Just like last summer (an event that found nationwide media coverage on ProTV, N24, realitate, antena 1, antena 3, Duna, etc.), participants of all ages are expected to take part in this event (the youngest was two and a half years old!) and to race down downhill with their creative and crazy self-constructed vehicles.

    Participants can be either alone on their vehicle or form teams of at least two persons or as many as their vehicle can hold (or not) and can consist of family members, friends or representatives of a company that wants to promote the products or services of their company by participating with their branded vehicles. How the vehicles look like is completely up to the participants.

    Prizes will go to: the craziest, the fastest vehicle, the team with the best showmanship, and the best company vehicle.

    Every year, the awareness for Rotary Club Braşov Citadel’s „Cursa trasnitilor” event grows as it has introduced a new type of fundraising: FUNdraising, showing that helping others can actually be a fun thing to do. Also the participating jurors help promote these events. They have consisted of a famous Romanian rally driver, the vice mayor of Brasov, etc.

    This year’s summer edition (just like the winter edition in January) of the „Cursa trasnitilor” is to raise funds for awarding classes in Brasov (City) with the best grade point average between the 5th and the 8th grade. As it is the responsibility of the teacher to see to it that children learn well, also the teacher of the class with the best grade point average will be awarded. The idea is that the teacher should focus on students of all levels of learning in one class – the ones that are usually left behind as well as the more gifted ones, without boring either one of them. A good teacher knows how to encourage weaker students as well as good students to achieve better results thus being able to raise the average grades of all students.

    - 10 Ron/ pers. for non-company teams
    - 50 Ron/ pers. for teams representing a company
