Lots of dirt at Bayamon trail, Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico (Global Adventures): If your travel takes you to Puerto Rico, you should remember the word Bayamon. At least if you are into cycling, or mountain biking, to be correct. The Bayamon trail is one of the best outings close to San Juan. The 10 miles/16 kilometers trail is a good mixture of Single Track and Dirt Road. Riders have tons of options to jump, and the trail can be a bit technical, especially if it gets wet after a heavy downpour.

It provides 45 degree drops and climbs; with lose dirt, rock, mud, and hard-pack. From San Juan, take expressway 52 north to the Catano exit. At the Federal Detention Center, turn left towards Fort Buchanan until you see the sign for “”Parque Ecuestre Julio Enruque Monagas.” Turn left into the park, use lots of insect repellent, and have fun!
