Omar Zanifi, 18.6.1976
a committed writer, an Amazigh(Berber) poet , Journalist, a knight of the pen what his people, the Berbers, concern. His most themes are about life, politics, love, Berber cause, sufferings of Berbers...
He is known that he writes, speaks and acts straightforward, what makes his veridical stories so beautiful. Many of his poems are set to music by his friend M’barek Oualaarbi, the spiritual artistic leader of the group “Saghru” and Muha Mallal”. Omar`s lyrics are longing for justice and yet filled with humour. Since childhood a musician himself, he is performer and teacher of the ritual dances of Ahidus and drummer of jumbies desert style. Actually, he is the official manager of the group Saghru.
Omar Zanifi has being studied Master at the Lahaye University for journalism in DenHaag, Netherlands, and will got his Master License for English Literature at the Ibn Zohr University, Agadir, Morocco. He speaks English, French, Arabic – and first of all Amazigh, Berber his mother tongue – Language of the First Nation of Africa.He wrote in four languages many articles for local ,national and internation magazines,websites,newspapers ,all about politics,civilisations,travels...Gave out many conferences about same issues of time already mentioned above in many Moroccan universities,schools,colleges and associations.
Revolting against the oppression of his people (80% of population) as an activist in Berber cause, he defends the poor and victims. In his country he is known as a personage full of generosity and consideration. For political reasons he cannot take up an academic career (teach)… and survives on translations and organisations of all kind. His insight and knowledge make him one of the most interesting travel accompanists, tour guide, in his service as a travel planner in desert discovery, mountains trekking, Berbers civilisation founding about.
