AS/400 Operating Systems Engineer
Our client, a financial institute with a branch in Lugano, Switzerland is currently looking for an experienced AS/400 Systems Engineer.
Responsibilities:
• Support, administer and troubleshoot OS400 operating systems, database and backup system
• Responsible for capacity planning, testing, tuning, configuration and setup of production and DR AS400 servers
• Perform CL programming and user menu implementation
• Administer security profiles, object authority, and object migration between development and production servers
• Perform daily backup operations to ensure all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
• Contribute to and maintain standards, policies and procedures and related documentation
• Work as a key technical resource on any assigned technology projects
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing and response
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and review on all hardware, security, capacity planning and monitoring on a routine and scheduled basis
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures by coordinating with the parties involved
Requirements:
• Degree / Diploma in IT or its equivalent discipline
• 3 - 5 years of relevant working experience
• Relevant IT certification / training in AS400 system, operation and administration
• Excellent customer service skills and experience in a professional service environment, with responsibility for supporting multiple applications and platforms
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent in Italian & English
