    Job Opportunity as Director Operations and Business Development in Shanghai, China

    On behalf of our client, a German Company which Manufactures Automotive and Industrial Applications, we are currently looking for a Director Operations and Business Development with sound working experience in field of Automotive industry.

    Salary: Competitive salary (depending on experience)
    Starting date: As soon as possible
    Location: Shanghai, China
    Number of subordinates: 10 - 20
    Reporting to: CEO of the Metal Hose Business Unit in Germany
    Travelling: Extensively, > 50%

    Responsibilities:
    + Build up and develop the green field production operations in Shanghai as well as manage the daily operations according to internal and client standards
    + Ensure quality level in accordance to international Automotive OEM expectations (TS and ISO standards)
    + Develop the organization and the business in the APAC (Asia Pacific) region according to the global strategy as well as coordinate the business development in the APAC region excluding China
    + Act as internal controlling function to ensure compliance, budget targets and cash flow on behalf of the shareholders
    + Coach and develop key staff for the organization and supervise, check and evaluate subordinates, coordinate and communicate between departments, facilitate the group-wide work and communication flow
    + Meet annual growth and operation targets set by Headquarter and engage with international clients in coordination with headquarter in order to grow regional sales
    + Direct management of department heads and related functions, i.e. production, supply chain, logistics, quality, human resources, administration, finance
    + Comprehensively report results to the Headquarters in Germany

    Requirements:
    + Bachelor Degree or above, knowledge of Management Accounting
    + Degree in a relevant technical discipline such as Mechanical or Automotive Engineering preferred, additional commercial qualification (e.g. a MBA)
    + More than 8 years Industrial or Automotive Executive Management experience and a track record of achieving revenue and delivery goals
    + At least 3 years in a technical function within a company with mechanical processing
    + Proven ability to excel in an operation with cross-functional responsibility in China
    + Experience in controlling the compliance and finances of an organization in China
    + Experience working with exhaust components preferred
    + Experience with international Sales and Business Development and selling to senior decision makers in the Automotive Industry in Asia Pacific
    + Knowledge of mechanical processes, metal processing and machine building
    + Effective and efficient communicator as well as analyst and problem solver
    + Team building, mentoring and leadership skills, strong cross-cultural understanding, self-motivated and directed
    + Well-developed commercial understanding including experience in strategic business development, account management, sales process management and negotiations
    + High level of integrity and empathy to handle a diverse set of personalities and situations
    + Excellent time management, organization and interpersonal as well as negotiation and problem resolution skills
    + Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English
    + Knowledge of German is strongly preferred
    + Willingness to live and work in Shanghai
