Bacula is a set of Open Source, enterprise ready, computer programs that permit you (or the system administrator) to manage backup, recovery, and verification of computer data across a network of computers of different kinds.

In technical terms, it is an Open Source, enterprise ready, network based backup program.



In dieser Gruppe sollen die diversen Aspekte und Vorgehensweisen der verschiedenen Lösungsansätze diskutiert werden und Ideen bei der Umsetzung von Datensicherungen ausgetauscht werden.
Die freie Software bacula erfreut sich aufgrund der nicht vorhandenen Lizenzpolitik einiger kommerzieller Alternativprodukte und auch wegen der umfangreichen und vielfältigen Einsatzmöglichkeiten seit Jahren großer Beliebtheit.
