    CALL FOR PAPERS: The rise of Turkey in the Arab and Muslim World
    On or before April 23, 2011

    Encompassing Crescent is an online monthly magazine that will debut its first issue on the theme, "The Rise of Turkey in the Arab and Muslim World." It will feature articles from a variety of different perspectives and actors, ranging from activists, experts, journalists, policymakers and political actors. In this regard, EC is currently soliciting articles on this theme.

    Specific perspectives being sought are as follows:
    African Viewpoint
    American Viewpoint
    Arab Viewpoint
    Armenian Viewpoint
    Central and South American Viewpoint
    Chinese Viewpoint
    Egyptian Viewpoint
    European Viewpoint
    Iranian Viewpoint
    Kurdish Viewpoint
    Palestinian Viewpoint
    Russian Viewpoint
    Syrian Viewpoint
    Turkish Viewpoint

    Specific areas or topics being sought are as follows:
    Turkey's contribution to democratization, reform and the strengthening of civil society in the Arab and Muslim world
    Turkey's potential and role as a mediator in the Arab and Muslim World and in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict
    The impact of the economic, political and social crises on Turkey and its role in the region
    Turkey's potential to fill the vacuum in the region with the decline of the United States
    Turkey's Impact on and participation in the changing International Order

    Other viewpoints and topics concerning the overall theme of the first issue are also welcomed. The aforementioned are merely suggestions by the editorial board of EC.

    All articles for inclusion in the issue should be submitted on or before April 23, 2011 and be between 2 to 4 pages in length. Book reviews on the theme are also welcomed. Please keep in mind that EC is currently not able to provide financial compensation for the articles submitted.
