I have been playing basketball since I was young enough to pick it up. I didn't play in college since I went straight to the US Army out of high school. I did play intramural b-ball in the service and have continued to play and coach it for a little over 40 years. Currently, I play a minimum of three days a week with guys my own age and a couple of days with the twenty to thirty crowd. A few years ago, my hip started acting up. It got to the point that I couldn't plant on my right leg anymore and rebounding was not an option. My game changed from cutting and slashing to running the point and staying around the top of the key at both ends of the floor. At least, I was still playing. I ran into a guy who was teaching about sports nutrition. He was a doctor, so I went to his seminar and took great notes. I changed my eating habits and added in some of the products that he was talking about. The result took ten years off my games. My hip gives me no problem and the knee pain I was ignoring was gone. I was just about ready to take up golf when Dr. Joe came into my life. Now, who knows, I may play until I am seventy. At least that is the way I feel today. I am currently fifty three years old. I am back driving and rebounding. I have lost twenty pounds and my energy on and off the court is at an all time high. I guess this old dog could learn a few new tricks.
