I read this book in 2002 and I have re-read it this year and I will definitely go back and re-read it again.
It is a book which reminds everyone of us in today's business world that a prepared strategy is not even 10% of reaching the goal as the most important pair of shoes is 'TO MAKE IT WORK'. Most of the time, there is too much focus given to strategies and planning and very little given to implementations, thus the promised result is not reached.
The book is excellently written by two business leaders: Ram Charan and Larry Bossidy. It does not only highlight how a business can take off having realistic strategies and the right people to execute it, but gives a lot of interesting examples from the industry on failed and successful exceutions.
To my point of view, it is a 'MUST READ' to everyone in the industry.
To my group peers: enjoy the read!

Do you use any software tool to support this approach? I know that Allen recommends an Outlook Plug in. As I am one of the forced notes user I have only found one very basic software supporting it on Notes. Nevertheless I would prefer any non-Outlook / Notes orientated separate solution.

I wrote an article based on this book (which is one of my personal favorites). You will find it here:
