  Poetry about work (even for people who don't usually read poetry)

  British marine biologist turned corporate poet David Whyte writes of our relationship with work. He has two books of prose which are well worth reading - all on Amazon. Currently I am reading his volume of collected poems: River Flow.
  
  Not being into poetry very much, I eased in by listening to his CD Midlife and the Great Unknown on my car sound system. Gradually, I have become more adventurous, committing to memory snippets such as this, celebrating the importance of our imagination to whom we seem to be in our own eyes and in the eyes of others.
  
  "When your eyes are tired, the world is tired also. When your vision is gone, no part of the world can find you."
  
  If you do on thing in this new year, get yourself a copy of Midlife and the Great Unknown.
