Integration of multiple languages: XING sees "The Greater China Group" as an example
In the latest newsletter for group moderators XING mentioned our "Greater China Group" as a good example for the integration of multiple languages in one group. Here is the news:

"As a multilingual platform with members in all corners of the globe, we love to see Groups (especially those that are not in English) offer more than one language. China, Hongkong, Taiwan - The Greater China Desk , for example, which covers a range of topics related to the Chinese-speaking world, integrates three languages – Chinese, English and German – into each Forum heading and description. Hellenic Business Community - Greece as a part of Europe/the World similarly includes Greek, English and German. Finally, American-German Business effectively integrates both German and English to facilitate transatlantic exchanges."

Of course we are proud that we can act as an example for other groups here at XING concerning the "language problem". In fact it isn't easy to integrate multiple languages in one group. We have set up some rules - and for all new members and all of you who don't remember, we would like to repeat them here:

    - We "support" English, German and of course Chinese as languages
    - Since XING is historically a German company there are many entries in German due to the fact that the first members were all German speaking
    - If you'd like to publish an entry in German, please indicate it with [DE] at the beginning of the headline
    - We have one board which is "Chinese only" and which is meant to discuss topics in Chinese by whoever is able to write Chinese on her / his computer. It is also especially meant to welcome discussions by our Chinese native speakers in this group.
    - In general: The common language is more and more English

That's all! Thank you for following these rules which make life in this group easier for all of us.
