Can only China prevent the looming currency-war? - Opinions
The German periodical 'DIE WELT' recently published a lengthy article about the looming currency-war. The newspaper, while not known so far to be one with a balanced view towards China, was driving home a slightly different story, highlighting the responsibilities of central banks of various countries (it named the US, Japan and Switzerland) for the present mess by acting solely in their own national interest.

While this is hardly any news, the article then emphasizes the leading role China could have, when it comes to cooperate at an international conference to sort out the present difficulties. Nobody would deny that and even 'DIE WELT' did recognize, that China is increasingly taking the initiative, as it has shown during recent support for the Euro.

Unfortunately the articles head line was apparently written by somebody who either didn't read or didn't understand the whole article, so the headline falls into the old 'WELT' scheme, opening the doors for some China-bashing by people who also didn't read any further. Here is the link:

'DER SPIEGEL' also has an opinion about what makes the US economy further ailing, mainly due to US-internal problems and policies. It also shows, why Europe and Asia (in particular China) did get through the recent crisis better:

We might see already at the coming G20 conference who will be the positive driving forces in the world economy in the coming years.
