It's official: Cats will rule the World... one Day...
We have to agree: they are cute, captivating, mysterious, shaggy, funny, smart and bold. They born hunters, are smart and agile.

Revered in ancient Egypt, they fight for centuries for survival. We are talking about cats. But they are also endowed with an ability to manage life the right way, and show leadership traits that could be motive of envy for many directors and managers, around the world.

And they are putting into action a plan for world domination.

This conspiracy theory started in my own neighborhood - it has lots of cats. I started to watch them. They prepared the battlefield with a “deal” with humans, through a brilliant trade off: they remained in the neighborhood, were cherished and fed; in turn, they spend some energy to hunt rats to avoid problems in public health. But I think this is all a facade: they hunt a mouse (preferably small and harmless, and then come to play outside, where humans can see them and say, "Yes sir, beautiful kitten! Keep on the good work!." That said, they just hunt another mouse again next month, to keep up appearances (lunch is granted). Once in a while they hire a mouse to play dead, in exchange for a chunk of cheese stolen from the grocery store. It's personal and professional marketing in all its splendor.

But not only: they are also masters in assertiveness. They know when to say yes if yes is the answer, and no when no is to be said - in short, they do whatever they want but spread that “look of assertiveness”, too powerful word in order to keep at distance those who do not dominate the subject. Humans have learned to respect assertiveness, so they respect cats. It works like this: a cat wants to be spoiled, he makes “ron ron”, and we cuddle him. He doesn’t want to be spoiled, he puts is ears down and know that’s not the right time to mess with him.

The assertiveness issue is a major cause of stress in human labor relations. To cats, is merely a fait divers.

But if you think a cat would not give a good manager, listen to this example: there is a cat in my neighborhood that stands in the wall to watch the cars coming and going, very patiently. She has a plan so effective for energy saving than hunger for good life. When a car arrives, she approximates to it and goes up the hood, still warm from the heat of the engine. It's the same that happens when I go to lunch in the range of work: along the way to the restaurant I see about 20 cats sprawling on the windows. In the way back, they all disappeared. There’s no sun painting the buildings anymore.

In addition, cats have always the “feet on the ground”, a symbol of realism in the face of difficult situations. Cats dislike soft grounds, they like the hard ones. No fluffy sand, sticky stuff, mud or water. If you take an eccentric manager, go to the top of a tower and tell him: “You have 100 meters till touch the ground to become realistic in your job and put your feet on the ground”… What happens? Nothing, you lose a manager and will have to hire another. Do the same experience with a cat – even just being about 70 cm high, he can turn around and have the legs on the ground. Fantastic. But this not end here: like a top manager, cats also know how to juggle with the legs (or feet, in the case of the manager) when they are not on the ground. They always find something where to hang the body and keep moving. It’s this ability to balance - realism when things are bad and juggling when you want to move forward - that defines a complete manager. And if things go really bad, no stress - cats have more lives to spend than we have. They always win.

If nothing can persuade you about my theory, I must say that cats are outstanding when the challenge is about seducing crowds. Leader that is leader must have this talent. Cats already control the Youtube doing their funny things, deliberately. They’re record breakers in the Internet visualizations, and hilarious clips are seeing in loop mode by children, adolescents and adults. Exotic terms like "Catvertising" come to light in the buzzword world (see video clip below). They embody the artistic work of Andrew Lloyd Webber, who led the musical "Cats" (since its debut in London in 1981!!!) to a level of popularity and theaters always full around the world, that still is practically unattainable.

Cat’s ability of selection is legendary. Studies indicate that if a consumer stays in a supermarket for about an hour, he ends up having contact with more or less 5000 brands. The average human being is faced with 300 to 600 advertising messages per day. It is a tremendous job of selection, conscious or unconscious - and it's exhausting. Instead, cats are quite effective: information is divided into sections: food, comfort, shelter, play, hunting, evasion techniques, cuddle and a good share of imperial pose. Some take the job even more seriously: they live in a “no man’s land” between food and the imperial pose.

Finally, one feature that is indispensable to any respected manager: independence of thought. Sometimes this trait is confused with arrogance and pride (especially in cats), but the truth is that Steve Jobs was not an easy person and he had millions followers enchanted with his work. Being able to do what you want, follow your own thoughts, amid obstacles and blocking forces, is the hallmark of great leaders. And a friend of mine found wisdom with that feature a few years ago when he said: "I have a very obedient cat. I tell him: do you come with me or not?! And he comes with me ... or not! "

But no, I do not let myself be overwhelmed by cats, no sir! They don’t fool me! Well ... let me go home because my cat must have already occupied my couch. Oh, I miss so badly when the couch was mine ...

    Best regards

"Maybe people value more fidelity than inteligence. Or compassion (some dogs have "that look of pitty!) aproximates more than disgust looks.
