中国是一个历史文化悠久以及多民族多地域文化的国家，数千年来勤劳的中国人民在日常的生活中创造了诸多社会文明以及丰富多彩的民间艺术和文化。其中一部分民间艺术与文化已经进入了非物质文化遗产保护名录，即便如此这其中的一部分濒临失传的危险。更有甚者还有一部分尚未被列入保护对象。传统艺术和文化的保护和传承需要大家的支持和推动。
