    Alternative for Cisco terminal server (aka Cisco 2509 or 2511 routers)?
    Hello,
    the Cisco Routers you can use as Terminal Servers are old, not easy to get and expensive.

    I'm looking for alternative solutions from other vendors. One idea is to build a linux server with a lot of serial (RS232) adapters but after I saw the price for an eight port USB to Serial adapter I'm looking for a ready to use hardware solution.

    At the moment I use a PCI card with 16 serial (RS232) ports in a linux box for my Cisco lab.

    thank you for the links. In the meantime I got a Cisco 2511-RJ router so my problem is solved (for the moment).
