    Dear Fellow CleanTechies,

    After several weeks of vigorous lobbying by the team behind the Globama initiative, the government this week finally decided to re-install solar on the White House ( http://blog.cleantechies.com/2010/10/06/white-house-goes-sol... ). We'd like to congratulate our partners on this success!

    Despite this big win, all is not well in the world of government signals to industry – in California Proposition 23 ( http://blog.cleantechies.com/2010/09/28/which-way-california... ) threatens to destabilize delicate but important environmental and energy policy initiatives.

    That said, inventors are still innovating, and the world of solar brought us two intriguing innovations: solar-powered window shutters ( http://blog.cleantechies.com/2010/10/06/solar-powered-window... ) and hybrid solar panels that convert "heat stress" into hot water ( http://blog.cleantechies.com/2010/10/05/hybrid-solar-panels-... ). With Solar Power International taking place next week, I have a feeling there is more to come very soon...
