    Berlin goes Web 2.0

In the month of October, the spotlight in Berlin will be shining on Web 2.0. For the second time, Germany’s capital city will host the Web 2.0 Expo Europe from October 21-23. In addition to these events organized by Internet pioneer and Web 2.0 creator Tim O’Reilly, several other events, meetings, conferences, bar camps and festival will take place that will attract thousands of national and international visitors to Berlin to discuss current Internet trends and developments.

    Berlin Online!
Germany’s capital is the leader in online use. According to the latest (N)Onliner Atlas, 70.3 percent of Berliners go online regularly, making Berlin the only federal state in Germany to pass the 70 percent mark, well above the national average of roughly 65 percent.

Approximately 800,000 “de” domains are registered in Berlin. Companies active in the Internet ecnomy, including social networks, blogs, content producers, business application-, technology- and software developers, all work internationally, employ hundreds of people and continue to grow exponentially.
