Sophie Le BrozecThe company name is only visible to registered members. What does every business need?
Businesses vary greatly from country to country, from industry to industry. But despite their differences businesses the world over have the same needs whether they sell products or services or both.
Businesses need customers. Without customers your business will not go far. There are a million different "secrets" on the internet about how to get customers so I'm not going to add to that, my point here is how you deal with them once you get that first contact or that first sale. For me the crucial element is your relationship with sales leads and current customers, we all know it is easier to keep a customer than to go out there and get a new one, but so many people forget or ignore this basic fact.
Therefore customer relationship is vital to every business but unfortunately rarely affordable for the small to medium businesses or entrepreneurs starting up. When I set up my own company a couple of years ago I spent a great deal of time looking for a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system that was suited to my small business, but everything was aimed at the big corporations, yet customer satisfaction is far more important in smaller companies. I finally gave in and parted with serious money to have a CRM tool aimed at big corporations for me and my little team! Since then I've kept an eye out for any companies out there ready to look after us SMEs and several years later I've found one.
http://www.glasscubes.com offers a great, simple CRM tool, especially aimed at small to medium businesses. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the big players but very few SMEs actually need all that and so all it does is complicate things for them. Through their tool, simply called Connect, import your contacts, associate tasks with them, such as "Chase up John re sales proposal sent" and set yourself a reminder for this action either via email or SMS. The "Opportunities" tab allows you to add, track and manage any sales leads/opportunities, providing an easy-to-read graph showing you clearly where you are that month or over the past year. While the "Issues" section means you can log any problems your clients are experiencing, assign someone to deal with it and see at a glance any issues you have pending.
In order to make this as accessible as possible to everyone, there are six different monthly packages, including a free one, and you can upgrade or downgrade from one month to another as you are not tied in to a long-term contract.
