I always wanted to record a Christmas album. Well, this year I got the ball rolling by recording a Christmas Single “My Christmas Wish.”
I was feeling a little melancholy one morning back in October after dropping the kids off at Nursery and had some time on my hands while I was in the waiting room of a car wash; so started to brainstorm on an idea for a Christmas Song.
For me, the words and music flow quite quickly once I get an idea, so it didn’t take long until I had a completed song. Getting it recorded was another story. Although I know some enthusiastic and talented musicians here in Dubai who were keen to work on the project; getting them and the studio time together was not happening and Christmas was coming!
Hence I made the decision to record the song in Belgium with my “handsome band” and Peter Bulkens engineering once again. I then put my vocals down at “Creative Kingdom” here in Dubai and sent them back for mixing.
It was perhaps a little more complicated than if we had all been together in the studio, but worked out in the end and I am forever grateful and thankful to the musicians for their creativity, spontaneity, enthusiasm and willingness to make this song happen with the time constraints that we faced.

Lisa performed earlier this year alongside the likes of James Blunt, John Ledgend, Peter Cincotti and Liz Wright as an international performer at the Dubai International Jazz Festival 2009. She enjoyed a large enthusiastic audience of all ages and cultures and was esteemed by all who had the opportunity and privilege of hearing her. As lead singer to perform from behind the piano is a rare and distinctive talent that Lisa presents with ease. She entertains the audience with her mesmerizing voice, her individualistic piano style and her natural charisma. Her music has been compared to the likes of Norah Jones, Eva Cassidy, Katie Melua and Diana Krall’s more recent albums.
Lisa grew up in Melbourne Australia and, influenced by her musical family, began to sing and play piano from a very early age. After completing her Diploma in Music Performance at the Australian College of Entertainers at the age of 22, she has travelled the world with her music performing in musicals, on cruise ships and in numerous 5 star hotels. Lisa has won a large Fan Club throughout the world, particularly in Germany and Belgium where she toured and performed regularly for many years before moving to Dubai.
