It has been said many times that continuous education and learning is THE key ingredient to success and continuous development, but a very important question arises here: "What and How".
It is quite obvious from the trend of consumerism that started with commodities and fast moving goods, and then advanced very fast, that the proliferation of Quasi-Education available everywhere is dangerous due to many many aspects. Here are some of them:
- The internet as a medium of exchange of information has led to the overall decrease of credibility of information
- Not only credibility, but also the freedom of the internet as a medium has allowed alot of sub-par material to go to the information highway and reach millions of people.
- The proliferation of reading material has caused the good and truly needed material to be lost in a huge pile of other useless information.
- The same proliferation in publications and writing resulted in a boring repetition of themes and writings, and sometimes to cases of mass intellectual theft
The above and many more, create the need for a directed and comprehensive learning medium, and an in depth educational measure that monitors the overall quality of such material.
It is very important to keep the end goals of learning always in mind, and always keep the theory of knowledge and learning before the eyes of any designer or presenter of educational material.
Let me know your inputs and Opinions.
