  Summer Camp Counselor Wanted

  Camp Counselors share their culture with American children while providing direct supervision, program instruction, and in many cases, must live with the campers. Camp life is demanding. It means long hours with little free time or privacy, and sometimes under rustic conditions. The ideal candidate must love children, be warm and caring and possess a good sense of humor, as well as must be inexhaustibly energetic, organized, flexible, outgoing, able to make mature judgments and capable of working well with others. Most candidates will have to lead activities in English in which they have expressed proficiency. Applicants must be able to meet these challenges.
  
  
  Camp Counselor/Program Specialist Criteria:
  • 18-30 years old
  • Speak English well
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience with youth
  • Strong outdoor skills
  • Available between May-August for at least 10 weeks
  Salary: Minimum of $1,350 (for 10 weeks) + Room/Board
  Minimum of $1,625 (for 10 weeks) + Room/Board if placed in a Special Needs camp
  
  
  Examples of high demand specialty skills: Lifeguard, Swim instructors, Sailing, Wind surfing/Scuba, High/Low Ropes, Abseiling/Rappelling, Riflery, Gymnastics, Woodworking, Horse Back Riding, Archery, Tennis, Arts/Crafts
  
  Support Staff Criteria:
  • 18-30 years old
  • Speak English well
  • Full time university student
  • Available between May-August for at least 10 weeks
