  A new global association for learning professionals - what could / should it do for you?

  We shall be launching ASPEL - the Association for Professional & Executive Learning - in the next couple of weeks, but before giving the 'green light', I'd be most grateful for your feedback on the (embryonic) site: http://www.aspel.org
  
  The vision is to generate the world's largest database of learning providers, connect clients seeking specialist solution providers to companies or independent consultants; provide a 'Body of Knowledge' for learning professionals and links to other sites of interest; support the professionalization (and transparency) of the industry; and generate a fund to assist organizations in low-GDP countries gain access to expertise at rates they can afford.
  
  What else do you think is important to provide the community of professionals? What would most attract you to joining such an association? In an ideal world, such a service would be free of course, but would you be prepared to pay a membership fee, and if so, how much? What for exactly?
