After an appetizer and being seated, waiting for the food to be served, "we" talked about how to get the most of your membership, the advantage of an online tool like XING to assist us in connecting and networking with people who can bring us forward and expand our networks. Still we should keep in mind that behind every XING profile is a human being, and we should communicate and act accordingly. Also, we get more attention and get "found" more easily when we show more of ourselves in our XING profile. Especially we should be visually identifiable with a good photo (I see, some of you have already improved on this - congratulations!). A light meal of our own choise satisfied our hunger. Then to foster networking and not only talk to people at one's own table, we practised a round of "speednetworking", allowing participants in each case to couple up for 4 minutes, exchange information, and then repeatedly change conversational partners. This still left enough time for individual conversations after the session. The event photos are available here:

I am sorry about the current status of the new event tool and the fact that some of you were not aware of the detailed event description. The recent event was a good one due to several reasons. You selected a nice location. It was easy to find and food was good. You gave a kind introduction and explained many things also to those that are new. So, you presented youself as a caring person taking responsibility for the event. You may do it a little shorter next time. I managed to get two new business related contacts, which is good and I never expect to get more than that. Generally, I would like to meet more entrepreneural people, because I am more looking for business contacts than social contacts. But that is probably only to find in specific network organisations. I liked the speednetworking part, as it forces people to go around.
So, keep on going. You are doing well.

The methodology you are using is well blanced and each of attendes can find his/her own way of contacting. I did not feel to comply in a stiff methodology where I cannot find my way of communicating (i have experienced it in Paris..the group was too crawded).
The outcomes for me were: 2 new buisness contacts and met tow fellows from Wireles Industry from Aalborg. I got 2 interesting technical discussions on the topic of "model gate project mananagement" and "embedded electronic in windpower electronic system". It gives me inspiration for my developments and help me in structuring my proposals in Denmark.
The place is fine. The food is fine...except the Champagne was not coming from France :-)
The music perfect (remember the bar played "The 50's anniversary of the Motown" ...simply great for a Motown's fan like me and other in the attendance. Do you kmow the story of the Motown...Just to remind you: "In the 60's the Motown objective was to make hits for everybody..it was not black music for black people (which were in difficulties) it was music for everybody White and Blacks, to have fun, to enjoy living..."
From this perspective you do the same: you allow people to get ouf the "ghetto", get out from the "desesperation as consequence of the financial crisis and budget's reduction", go for project, enjoy communication, food and doing buisness in a peace full environment and get energy......
Proposition for improvement: Prepare a Quality questionnary. If you are interested in I will help you to prepare it.
