DESERTEC - A solution for the global climate and energy challenge

Welcome to the DESERTEC Forum!

This forum offers a platform to discuss and promote the idea of the DESERTEC Concept, which was developed by the members of the TREC Network and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and so far promoted by the German Chapter Club of Rome. In the future the non-profit DESERTEC Foundation will take over this task.

The DESERTEC Concept has gained a lot of attention during the last two years and has left its marks in the political debate. But, there is still a long way to go and some interests against it.

When, if not now,

is the time to and stabilize our climate, guarantee access to clean and affordable energy to the majority of mankind, to give perspectives of prosperity and economic advance to the people in the earth’s sunbelt.

As a member of the DESERTEC forum you are kindly invited to

- learn about the DESERTEC Concept

- stay up to date with the progress of the DESERTEC Concept in the political decision process

- give your opinion, make suggestions

- take action (spread the word, support the DESERTEC Foundation, tell your political representatives about DESERTEC and tell them that you would like them to implement the concept)

- and certainly invite other people to do so
