Dear group members,
Starting in September 2011, we will run kind of an intercultural education project for high school pupils in cooperation with local SME companies.
The aim of the project is to raise awareness for intercultural aspects in today’s business and how important the English language has become for being successful in business and professional life.
During the project, the pupils will be taught basics in business English, they’ll get to know local SME companies and they will deal with and translate company profiles in cooperation
with a local journalist – as one of our project partners is a business magazine covering central Germany (
http://www.wirtschaftsjournal.de).
The project is financially supported by the European Social Fund.
In this context we are looking for an Irish SME (not mandatory could also be bigger) company, preferably based in the Dublin region. Great would be a company with some business connections or a certain business interest in Germany.
In fact, there isn’t much the company will have to do. For the pupils to get to know the company, we would love to get a company presentation or profile, which they will work with and translate into German (AND it will be published in the above-mentioned business magazine).
And the second part of the company’s role would be a guided tour through the company in February 2012, when the pupils will come over to Ireland to get to know the country and its economy.
Could that be of interest to your company or do you know somebody who’d be interested?
Please post to this thread or send me a personal message.
I’d appreciate any help in finding a possible project partner.
