    A Breakfast Shared
    Gentle Readers

Ever one of the great joys in life is connecting
with other forms of life, whether, people, flora
or fauna. This incident related to a six month
residency in the Lake District of England.
A time when I was being taught to track deer,
so that I could paint them. My guide was a
wonderful chap called John Cubby, who has
since passed on. He was the Head Ranger
at the Lakelands Division of the Forestry Commission
and a very fine person. God bless him.

    A Breakfast Shared

Ah a gentle fluttering as through my
open skylight window a winged friend
alights upon my palm little robin redbreast
looks to my eye then dips down to share
my winter fare picking gleefully upon
oatcake crumbs as with my other hand
I do gratefully sup on hot salted porridge
such a comfort for a scotsman to imbibe
this plain yet delicious fare such a blessing
in our sacred sharing a sense of each being
held within an infinitely loving palm as we
receive through the one hand and gracefully
surrender everything through the other from
a place of loving peace we do mirror the
sacred within all things through the eternal
tide of giving and receiving such gentle
harmony encompasses this way of being
as all things by divine grace such a simple
pleasure one discovers when with a joy
filled manner we do live from sacred
    understanding that all life grows
    through this ever loving grace

such a peace within when we do live
from a place of empathic oneness
with all life have a joy in this practice
see life smile back with delight
