Anja BuchlohThe company name is only visible to registered members. What do I need to set-up a private business in Egypt as a foreigner?
I am thinking about opening my own private company in Hurghada and please need advices, which papers I have to bring, how much it will cost (roundabout of course) and if it is generally possible to open a company without an Egyptian partner. Also any input regarding the Egyptian tax-system is highly appreciated :-)
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Sunny regards from the Red Sea

Hi Anja,
i can not provide you with all the information you need, cause i am not a lawyer, but may i can help you to get an idea to start.
First of all, you need the right Visa. This is for Europeans not a bog number to get. Also you need for sure:
+ the approvment from high police in Cairo about your person
+ The agreement about the company you like to open
+ you need to check that the name you want to use for the company is free, e.g. "Business" and Business Company" is not the same
+ you need somebody to help with tax
In general it IS possible to set up a company without an egyptian partner, but right now it changed because it was misused by some people.
If you like i can help to get a meeting with our company lawyer here in Hurghada. I think this will be free of charge.
Regards
Joachim

Hi Anja,
To set up a private business in Egypt, you need to have professional office to handle your paper documents from day one, you do not need even lawer, i am talking about office such as KPMG, or similar.
