Hello everybody:-)
Dr Joseph Adelegan. a future player, is the founder of the Global Network for Environment and Economic Development Research - a NPO involved in environmental protection and sustainable development issues in Africa. Adelegan's "Cows to Kilowatts" project won the prestigious Supporting Entrepreneurs for Environment and Development Initiative award in 2005. In 2006 he was selected as one of the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leaders.
"Cows to Kilowatts" is a novel approach to solving the problem of organic waste, and could benefit Africa in an unprecedented manner. The innovation uses anaerobic fixed film biogas technology to generate biogas from slaughterhouse waste. The technology is applicable to any organic industrial waste. And if organic waste from your factory is converted through anaerobic digestion into biogas, and that biogas is used to generate electricity, then you reduce your consumption of energy from the national grid. Imagine how much energy we would save if most industries generating organic waste in Africa applied this model. Burning this biogas to generate electricity also producess less greenhouse gases than burning fossil fuels.

Hi Lalit,
Is India helping Africa with this technology?
If not, why not, 'cause we need to, as we are all tied to each other through sharing this planet and its resources.
Perhaps you may want to spearhead a joint Indo-panAfrican project on this if you are close to this biogas technology?
I thought I lay some food for thought on the table…
With all good wishes,
