Check out the entire article or you can get the summary version from Jeff Atwood at Coding Horror[http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/001210.html]. Jeff so rightly points out, "a surprisingly large part of success is recognizing the most common mistakes and failure modes, so you can at least in theory realize when your project is slipping into one of them. Ignorance is the biggest software project killer of them all." I couldn't agree more.
