Academy of Microfinance Development in Asia (AMiDA) in April 2008, Bali, Indonesia.
The Academy of Microfinance Development in Asia (AMiDA) is an international-standard annual microfinance academy in Indonesia which will cover leading topics in microfinance and be accessible to large numbers of microfinance managers and policy makers throughout Southeast Asia. The goal of this academy is to build the professionalism, skills and long-term sustainability of the industry and increase outreach to low-income populations, particularly those affected by recent disasters.

The AMiDA is modeled on successful international intensive academies for high-level professionals and policy makers. The Academy will run for two weeks of each year and would provide the world’s leading trainers in microfinance, both Indonesian and international leading seminars and workshops on a wide range of cutting edge topics and in a language and location which makes it accessible to large numbers of Indonesians. MICRA envisions AMiDA becoming a permanent annual event, reaching over 100 top microfinance managers per year with an intensive offering of best-practice materials on key skills and innovations.
