    GIZ Job 8290: Farmer Organizations Specialist (m/f), Afghanistan
    http://j.mp/GIZ8290: The Horticulture and Livestock Project (HLP) started in 2006. It aims to enhance productivity and stimulate perennial horticulture and livestock marketable output in focus areas of Central and Northern Regions by improving the incentives framework for private investments and strengthening public sector institutional capacity. The Farmers’ Organizations Specialist will be responsible for planning and organizing farmers’ groups in the project area. This will involve community surveys, supervision of information and training in collaboration with the Horticulture Facilitating Partner.

    Qualifications:
    • advanced degree in agriculture, economics, business administration, farmers’ organizations or related fields from internationally recognized institution(s);
    • minimum of ten years experience in supporting and developing farmers’ organizations in developing countries;
    • extensive experience in developing information and training of farmers and cooperative staff;
    • proven experience in setting-up and managing farmers’ groups in developing countries;
    • proven leadership skills, including a minimum of five years of management responsibility for rural development projects involving farmers’ groups and cooperatives.
