Dear Members,
Originally coming from The Gambia in West Africa, I spent my teenage years and military service in London. I now reside in Berlin. My background and culture has given me many years of experience as a music teacher, developing an unique method that promises interactive and rhythmic success with children, youths and adults alike.
Gamton Percussion is a training program for groups who seek to improve team working skills, productivity potential and creative thinking. International educators recognize drumming as a cutting edge psychological tool that can be effectively applied in diverse environments to release stress, develop group bonding and team building, as well as synchronizing thought processes. Cultures throughout the world have used the timeless forces of percussion to affect change, as well as promote the breaking down of racial, cultural, gender and age barriers.
Drumming has been used for centuries to inspire people to achieve outstanding results. Drumming not only can inspire you but also be an effective way to bond the team to create a positive result. It is only when everyone in the team is working together, listening, giving, being attentive, using their instrument to the best of their ability will the group be able to achieve the ultimate experience which is "being in the groove", something that is not easily put into words.
Using drums and percussion is the perfect metaphor for effective teamwork that happens in a corporation.Just as each instrument in the percussion group needs to be operated at its peak effectiveness in order for the team to create the ultimate result, so does each person in a Corporation need to do his job to the best of his/her ability in order for the team to produce the results for the company.
Just as in a corporation with a director, so in a percussion group the facilitator's job is to inspire, guide and be accountable for overall result of the percussion group and the music.
Once the team achieves this cohesiveness with the help of an expert facilitator, who's job it is to bring out the potential of the group, then then fun and enjoyment of the state of teamwork really comes into effect and nothing is impossible for a group of people working to the same beat. In time and rhythm with each other and the enviroment in which they operate.
Drumming is the most fundamental group activity for celebrating success, unity or relaxing. Interactive drumming is a cutting edge psychological tool used effectively in the corporate environment for stress release, group bonding, team building, synchronising of thought processes and breaking down of racial, cultural, gender and age barriers. Drumming is Relaxation; the ultimate De-stressor and energiser at a conference or training course. Participating in a drumcircle is a relaxing experience for the heart, mind and body.
At Conferences:
• At the beginning of a conference to warm-up the delegates and create Team.
• During the conference to bring some energy to a heavy workday.
• At the end of the conference to celebrate the achievement.
• Communication and listening skills improve
I was a guest presenter at the last two ECIS November Conferences (Nice and Madrid). Since then, I have been visiting International Schools and companys in throughout Western and Eastern Europe, bringing staff and ceo´s my professional percussionist workshops. I provide the original West African percussion music instruments in which the students play.
